What
We Believe
WE
BELIEVE the Bible to
be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of
God (2 Timothy 3:16, 2
Peter 1:21).
WE
BELIEVE there is one
God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and
Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1, Matthew
28:19, John 10:30).
WE
BELIEVE in the deity
of Jesus Christ (John 10:33); His
virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew
1:23, Luke 1:35); His sinless
life (Hebrews 4:15; 7:26).
WE
BELIEVE in the absolute
necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation
because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature; that
men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed
blood of Christ and that only by God's grace and through faith
alone are we saved (John 3:16-19,
Romans 3:23; 5:8-9, Ephesians
2:8-10).
WE
BELIEVE in the present
ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian
is enabled to live a godly life (Romans
8:9, 1 Corinthians 12:12-22,
Galatians 3:26-28).
Scriptures
2Timothy
3:16
All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable
for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction
in righteousness.
2Peter
1:21
For
the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but
holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Genesis
1:1
In
the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Matthew
28:19
Go
ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
John
10:30
I
and my Father are one.
John
10:33
The
Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not;
but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest
thyself God.
Isaiah
7:14
Therefore
the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall
conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Matthew
1:23
Behold,
a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son,
and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted
is, God with us.
Luke
1:35
And
the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall
come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow
thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of
thee shall be called the Son of God.
Hebrews
4:15; 7:26
(4:15)
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with
the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like
as we are, yet without sin.
(7:26) For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless,
undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the
heavens;
John
3:16-19
For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world
to condemn the world; but
that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth
on him is not condemned: but he that
believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed
in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the
condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved
darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Romans
3:23; 5:8-9
(3:23)
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (5:8-9)
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while
we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being
now justified by his blood, we
shall be saved from wrath through him.
Ephesians
2:8-10
For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not
of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any
man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus unto good
works, which God hath before ordained that we should
walk in them.
Romans
8:9
But
ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that
the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the
Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
1
Corinthians 12:12-22
For as the body is
one, and hath many members, and all the members of that
one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For
by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we
be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and
have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body
is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, Because
I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not
of the body? And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the
eye, I am not If
the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing?
If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? But now
hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as
it hath pleased him. And
if they were all one member, where were the body? But now
are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot
say unto the hand, I have no need of thee:
nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Nay,
much more those members of the body, which seem to be more
feeble, are necessary:
Galatians
3:26-28
For
ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have
put on Christ.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor
free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one
in Christ Jesus.
